Mass Communication is the study of mass media including all the various mediums used to convey information, communicate and broadcast to the audience. It is a multi-disciplinary course which engages not just with the medium, but with the learners themselves. It is a course which prepares an individual to work on fronts of all the mediums, from which the learner can choose a field to pursue ahead in masters or in the industry. 

Newspapers and magazines in print, film production to film criticism, radio to podcasts, television production to scriptwriting, marketing to digital media marketing, the field engages and trains with all forms of modern communication and information dissemination.

BA(JMC) course of GGSIPU comprehensively introduces the students to various aspects of Journalism. The three year programme helps equip students with the relevant skills and knowledge set to excel in media and communication sectors. A student is trained in all facets of media consumption, production and dissemination.

The objectives of the course is to produce scholar graduates with strong academic knowledge and professional skills so they are prepared to join media and can contribute positively to society. A professional course in mass communication opens doors for a career in films & TV, publishing, public relations, journalism, editing, direction, film making, script writing, production, etc. Mass Communication widens up the horizon of career options for an individual.

At Delhi Metropolitan Education, the students of Journalism and Mass Communication are given the freedom and training for cultivating innovation and creativity. Over three years, the students not only gain working knowledge of the media industry, but also begin to excel in in various areas of communication and marketing – Anchoring, Event Management, Visual Arts, Digital Media Marketing and reporting. This is achieved through year around international and national conferences, film festivals, internships, college and university fests, lessons beyond classrooms  and regular interaction with industry experts. In addition to the academics, students gain many life skills at DME and are presented with a range of opportunities to develop and exhibit these skills.

Lab Subjects BA (JMC) 352 Final Project and Comprehensive Viva Outcomes of the Subject: Each student will make his/her final project on any one of the disciplines, i.e., Print Media/ Electronic Media (Radio & TV)/ New Media/ Integrated Marketing (Ad, PR & Event)/ Research on the subject/theme approved by the Director/ Principal of the Institute/HoD in the Fifth semester. The Project Report (in duplicate) both hard & soft copy along with the end product will be submitted by the student at least four weeks prior to the date of commencement of the End-Term Examination of the Sixth Semester. The student will present her/his final product along with a multi-media presentation. The Comprehensive Viva Voce based on the courses of the entire programme and future projections of Media and Entertainment industry.
